An explanation – Brasil é tipo assim

Wandering the streets of São Paulo I noticed that many Brazilians pepper their speech with the words ‘tipo assim’ meaning ‘like this’. It can come at the beginning of a sentence, in the middle of a sentence, at the end of the sentence, or it can be used on its own, tipo assim. You can use it as often as you want, though this might annoy some people, tipo assim. In honour of ‘tipo assim’ I’ve decided to dedicate the next few posts to all things Brazilian, tipo assim!
