Spectators. They were everywhere this summer. First the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, then the Olympics and finally the Paralympics.
Cameras and mobile phones held at eye level,
or above the head in a bid to get a good photo.
It seems to be a trend that if you were at an event,
but didn’t photograph
or record it,
you weren’t really there…
Your photo validates that you were.
So, you wait
Waiting for the moment.
Maybe we’ve forgotten how to live in the moment,
forgotten how to remember things,
to just experience them.
without recording them
But I’m probably as guilty as anyone!
